Giants pound Rangers in opener

Freddy Sanchez had four hits and drove in three runs Wednesday, as the San Francisco Giants chased Cliff Lee from the mound in an 11-7 rout of the Texas Rangers in Game 1 of the World Series at A T & T Park.

The Giants won the game as +117 underdogs, while the 18 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under total of 5.5 set by sportsbooks.

Juan Uribe went deep for a three-run homer for the Giants. Tim Lincecum scattered eight hits and four runs over his 5 2-3 innings for the win.

Lee suffered his first postseason loss, giving up eight hits and seven runs over 4 2-3 innings.
