Cards rally past Reds; take series

The St. Louis Cardinals erased a four-run lead and defeated the Cincinnati Reds 7-5 Thursday afternoon in the rubber match.

St. Louis won the game at Busch Stadium as -115 favorites, and the 12 runs were OVER the posted over/under (9).

Skip Schumaker was 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBI in leading the Cards to the win. Russ Springer got credit for the win in relief, and Jason Isringhausen notched his sixth save.

Brandon Phillips belted a two-run homer and finished with two hits and three RBI for the Reds. Kyle Lohse allowed five runs from 11 hits over six innings to suffer the loss.
