Cubs double Cardinals

The Chicago Cubs scored four runs in the third inning to defeat the St. Louis Cardinals 4-2 Sunday at Busch Stadium, and clinched the four-game series.

Chicago won the game as -135 favorites, while the six runs were UNDER the posted over/under (9.5).

Matt Murton belted a three-run homer to lead the Cubs, while Jason Marquis tossed a five-hitter through 6 1-3 innings for his 12th victory.

Skip Schumaker was 2-for-2 with two RBIs for the Cardinals, and Matt Mulder surrendered seven hits and four runs over three innings.
