Phillies pound Cardinals
The Philadelphia Phillies scored nine runs in the fourth inning Friday, as they crushed the St. Louis Cardinals 20-2 at Busch Stadium.
Philadelphia won the game as -115 favorites, while the 22 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (9.5).
Ryan Howard belted two home runs and finished with five RBIs for the Phillies. Chase Utley, Geoff Jenkins and Carlos Ruiz each had three RBIs in the win. Kyle Kendrick allowed two runs off eight hits over seven innings for the victory.
Skip Schumaker and Troy Glaus drove in the runs for the Cardinals. Todd Wellemeyer was rocked for eight runs in 3 1-3 innings in the loss.
