Pujols powers Cards to sweep of Mets
Albert Pujols belted two home runs to help the St. Louis Cardinals outlast the New York Mets 12-8 and earn a sweep of the three-game series at Busch Stadium Thursday afternoon.
St. Louis won the game as -145 favorites, and the 20 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (9.5).
Pujols finished with three hits and three RBIs, and Rick Ankiel homered with two RBIs for the Cardinals. Kyle Lohse allowed two runs off eight hits over five innings for the win.
Carlos Beltran cracked a three-run homer for the Mets, while Livan Fernandez gave up seven runs over 4 1-3 innings in the loss.
