Cardinals clobber Cubs
A Grand Slam from Albert Pujols helped the St. Louis Cardinals defeat their NL Central rivals the Chicago Cubs, winning 8-2 at Busch Stadium Saturday.
St. Louis won as a -107 home favorite while the final score pushed with the 10-run total.
Pujols finished the day with just one hit, but knocked in four runs with that seventh inning home run. Cardinals starter Mitchell Boggs pitched just under six scoreless innings while the bullpen surrendered two runs.
Cubs starter Sean Marshall pitched a solid game, allowing three runs on six hits in six innings. However, Chicago's bullpen served up the Grand Slam and the loss. Kosuke Fukudome registered two hits while Ryan Theriot picked up two hits and an RBI.
