The St. Louis Cardinals scored four runs in the fifth inning Thursday en route to a 5-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates for a sweep of the two-game set at Busch Stadium.
St. Louis won the game as -185 favorites, and the seven runs went UNDER the day's posted over/under (9.5).
Jason LaRue went 2-for-4 with a solo home run for the Cardinals. Todd Wellemeyer gave up four hits and two runs over seven innings for the win.
Robinson Diaz had two hits and belted a solo home run for the Pirates. Ross Ohlendorf gave up five runs over six innings in the loss.
