Cards slip past Cubs
The St. Louis Cardinals scored on a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning and managed to sneak past the Chicago Cubs 2-1 at Busch Stadium Wednesday night.
The Cardinals won the game as a -115 favorite, but the three runs went UNDER the posted over/under (8).
Chris Duncan went 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in one run for the Cardinals. Chris Carpenter threw five scoreless innings for his second win, and Ryan Franklin closed out the game with his 10th save.
Micah Hoffpauir drove in the only run for the Cubs. Ryan Dempster surrendered six hits and two runs over seven innings in the loss.
