Angels drop Rangers

The Los Angeles Angels gained half a game on the idle Athletics in the AL West race Thursday night with a 7-4 win over the Texas Rangers.

The Angels were a –140 favorite in the game. The 11 runs scored were OVER the posted over/under total (9.5).

Chone Figgins and Casey Kotchman each had two RBI for the Angels.

Michael Young was 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored for Texas.

Ervin Santana picked up the win after pitching six innings and allowing three runs on six hits over six innings. Chris Young allowed three runs on three hits over five innings to earn a no-decision. Kelvim Escobar recorded his first save of the season.
