Orioles stun Red Sox
Nick Markakis drove in the game-winning run with a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning on Friday, as the Baltimore Orioles came back from a 5-1 deficit to beat the Boston Red Sox 6-5 at Oriole Park.
The Orioles were 100 home underdogs, and the 11 runs scored were OVER the posted total of 8.
Erik Bedard went 7 2-3 innings, allowing three runs on four hits, and Jim Hoey (1-0) took the win. Markakis had two RBIs on the night for the Orioles.
Daisuke Matsuzaka gave up a run on four hits over seven innings, and Hideki Okajima (3-1) earned the loss. David Ortiz was 1-for-4 for two RBIs for the Red Sox.
