Rays outlast Orioles for split
The Tampa Bay Rays rallied with four runs in the ninth inning to secure an 8-6 victory over the Baltimore Orioles Wednesday night and earned a split of the two-game set at Camden Yards.
Tampa Bay won the game as a -110 pick’em, while the 14 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (11).
B.J. Upton had three hits and drove in one run for the Rays, and Jason Bartlett went deep in the win. Jeff Niemann earned the win over a five-inning performance, and J.P. Powell got his first save of the season.
Brian Roberts belted two-run homer, while Ty Wigginton went 3-for-4 at the plate with one RBI for the Orioles. Brad Bergesen gave up nine hits and four runs over 5 2-3 innings in the loss.
