Red Sox sneak past Orioles
Julian Tavarez pitched five solid innings, allowing six hits and two runs to lead the Boston Red Sox over the Baltimore Orioles 4-3 at Fenway Park on Friday.
The Red Sox were underdogs to win at home at +105, and the seven runs scored was UNDER the posted total of 9.5.
Tavarez struck out five to raise his record to 5-4, and Mike Timlin collected his ninth save of the season. Mike Lowell had three hits and drove in three runs for Boston.
Erik Bedard also went five innings, giving up four runs on seven hits to fall to 15-11. Kevin Millar knocked out his 15th homer of the season for the Orioles.
