Red Sox topple Brewers in opener
The Boston Red Sox took the afternoon game of a day-night doubleheader with a 5-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers at Fenway Park.
Boston won the game as -240 favorites, while the eight runs fell UNDER the posted over/under (9.5).
David Ortiz went 2-for-2 and belted a three-run homer to lead the Red Sox. Daisuke Matsuzaka gave up two runs over 6 2-3 innings in his seventh straight win, while Jonathan Papelbon closed out the ninth with his 12th save.
Ryan Braun had three hits in five trips to the plate with a solo home run for the Brewers. Jeff Suppan surrendered four runs off nine hits in six innings in the loss.
