The St. Louis Cardinals got past the Boston Red Sox 5-4 in the opener of a three-game Interleague series at Fenway Park Friday night.
St. Louis won the game as +160 underdogs, while the nine runs fell UNDER the posted over/under (9.5).
Skip Schumaker belted a two-run homer, while Jason LaRue and Yadier Molina went deep for the Cardinals. Kyle Lohse improved to 9-2 with the win, and Ryan Franklin closed out the ninth with his 10th save.
Julio Lugo homered and finished with two RBIs for the Red Sox. Tim Wakefield allowed four runs off seven hits in seven innings in the loss.
