Troy Glaus belted a grand slam home run, while Rick Ankiel and Aaron Miles drove in two runs apiece for the Cardinals. Mitchell Boggs allowed three runs off five hits in 5 1-3 innings for the victory.
J.D. Drew went deep for the Red Sox, and Alex Cora had two RBIs in a losing effort. Daisuke Matsuzaka was rocked for seven runs in the first inning before getting pulled.
