David DeJesus went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs in leading the Kansas City Royals to a 4-3 win over the Boston Red Sox in the series-opener Thursday at Fenway Park.

Brian Bannister went six innings and earned the win for the Royals, while Joakim Soria turned away the side in the ninth for his 12th save.
Daisuke Matsuzaka walked eight batters and gave up three earned runs over 4 2-3 innings in the Red Sox loss.
