Podsednik powers Sox past Astros
Scott Podsednik hit a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday night to give the Chicago White Sox a 7-6 win in game 2 of the World Series.
The Sox were a –133 favorite in the game. The 13 runs scored were well OVER the posted over/under total (7).
Paul Konerko hit a grand slam for Chicago in the seventh inning. Joe Crede delivered an RBI single in the second inning and Juan Uribe added an RBI groundout.
Morgan Ensberg hit a solo home run for Houston in the second inning. Lance Berkman hit an RBI sac fly in the third and swatted a two run double in the fifth. Jose Vizcaino drove in a pair of runs with a single in the ninth inning.
Mark Buehrle pitched seven innings and allowed four runs on seven hits with six strikeouts for Chicago. Andy Pettitte went six innings for Houston and allowed two runs on eight hits.
Brad Lidge took the loss after giving up the home run to Podsednik.
