Chi Sox lay the lumber to the Cardinals

Paul Konerko went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI and Tadahito Iguchi knocked in three runs as the Chicago White Sox pounded the St. Louis Cardinals for the second straight night in a 13-5 win on Wednesday.

The White Sox won this game as -166 favorites at home. The game’s final score easily went OVER the posted total (9.5).

Jim Thome went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer, while Joe Crede and Juan Uribe added a solo homer each for the White Sox.

So Taguchi, Jim Edmonds and Timo Perez had a solo homer each for St. Louis.

Mark Buehrle was credited with the victory, allowing four runs on 10 hits in seven innings of work for Chicago. Jason Marquis was rocked for 13 runs and 14 hits in five innings pitched for St. Louis.
