Jeff Mathis belted a two-run homer and three others went deep as the LA Angels pounded the Chicago White Sox 9-5 Thursday, and avoided a three-game sweep at U.S Cellular Field.

LA won the game as +135 underdogs, and the 14 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (9.5).

Erick Aybar also went deep and drove in a pair of runs for the Angels. Ervin Santana pitched six innings for his fourth win, allowing four runs off five hits.

Jayson Nix hit a three-run homer in a losing effort for the White Sox. John Danks was pounded for nine hits and seven runs over 6 1-3 innings.
