Tigers sneak past Mets
The Detroit Tigers held off a late surge by the New York Mets and won 8-7 Saturday in interleague play at Comerica Park.
Detroit won the game as -150 home favorites, and the 15 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (8.5).
Carlos Guillen was 2-for-5 and hit a three-run homer to lead the Tigers. Jeremy Bonderman won his sixth straight, allowing eight hits and six runs over six innings of work.
David Wright hit a solo home run for the Mets, and finished 2-for-4 at the plate. Oliver Perez gave up seven hits and five runs over five innings to suffer the loss.
