Tigers hold off Devil Rays

The Detroit Tigers scored the go-ahead run in the eighth-inning, and went on to defeat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 9-6 Tuesday night at Comerica Park.

Detroit won the game as -185 favorites, while the combined 15 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (10.5).

Magglio Ordonez drove in two runs, and finished 3-for-5 at the plate for the Tigers. Tim Byrdak picked up the win in relief, and Todd Jones closed out the ninth with his 30th save.

Jonny Gomes belted a grand slam for the Devil Rays, and Dan Wheeler surrendered four hits and three runs in suffering the loss.
