Tigers maul Rangers

Miguel Cabrera blasted a grand slam homer and drove in six runs Friday, as the Detroit Tigers hammered the Texas Rangers 15-2 in the opener of a three-game series at Comerica Park.

Detroit won the game as -145 favorites, and the 17 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (10).

Armando Galarraga allowed just one run off five hits through seven innings to pick up the win.

Nelson Cruz went 2-for-5 at the plate with a solo home run for the Rangers. Kris Benson was rocked for eight runs over five innings in the loss.
