Tigers bite Angels
Detroit Tigers outfielder Johnny Damon hit a walkoff home run in the bottom of the ninth to down Los Angeles Angels, 3-2, at Comerica Park Saturday afternoon.
Detroit won as a -111 home favorite while the final score played UNDER the 9.5-run total.
Damon finished the day 3-for-5 with that solo RBI. Miguel Cabrera and Brandon Inge added RBI in the win. Starter Jeremy Bonderman went six innings, giving up one earned run on 10 hits.
Kendry Morales continued his hot hitting, going 3-for-4. Third baseman Brandon Wood recorded the Angels' lone RBI. Starting pitcher Scott Kazmir lasted six innings, allowing two runs on five hits. Reliever Scott Shields allowed the losing run, giving up the solo home run.
