Big inning powers Royals
The Kansas City Royals tallied six runs in the second inning on Friday, doubling the Philadelphia Phillies 8-4 at Kauffman Stadium.
The Royals were home underdogs at 140, and the 12 runs scored were OVER the posted total of 10.5.
Scott Elarton (2-2) went five innings, allowing four runs on six hits, and Mark Grudzielanek was 2-for-5 with a homer and two RBIs for the Royals.
Freddy Garcia (1-5) was chased after 1 2-3 innings, giving up six runs on seven innings. Ryan Howard had a two-run home run for the Phillies.
