Royals shut down Yankees

The Kansas City Royals shutout the New York Yankees 7-0 Thursday night, and avoided a four-game sweep at Kauffman Stadium.

Kansas City won the game as +145 underdogs, while the seven runs fell UNDER the posted over/under (11.5).

Alex Gordon homered and finished 3-for-4 at the plate for the Royals, and Jorge De La Rosa combined on a six-hit shutout for his eighth win.

Jose Molina collected two hits in four trips to the plate for the Yankees. Kei Igawa surrendered seven hits and five runs over 5 2-3 innings in the loss.
