Yankees investments payoff vs. Royals
Starter C.C. Sabathia looked more like the $161 million dollar pitcher the New York Yankees paid for in a 6-1 win over the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium Saturday.
New York won as a -214 road favorite while the final score played under the 8.5-run total.
Sabathia pitched just under eight scoreless innings, giving up only six hits in the win. First baseman Nick Swisher, another offseason acquisition, went 2-for-3 with a home run, two walks and two RBI.
Royals first baseman Mike Jacobs went 2-for-4 on the day including a double. Starter Horacio Ramirez pitched just over four innings, allowing six runs on six hits.
