Tigers maul Royals
Placido Polanco belted a two-run homer and drove in three runs to lead the Detroit Tigers to a 8-3 victory over the Kansas City Royals in the rubber match of a three-game series Wednesday afernoon at Kauffman Stadium.
Detroit won the game as -120 favorites, while the 11 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (9).
Josh Anderson went 4-for-5 at the plate with one RBI for the Tigers. Rick Porcello improved to 6-3 with the win, allowing just four hits and two runs.
Mark Teahen had three hits and belted a solo home run for the Royals. Kyle Davies was rocked for 10 hits and eight runs over 5 2-3 innings.
