Late rally helps Royals stop ChiSox
The Kansas City Royals scored five runs in the seventh inning and defeated the Chicago White Sox 6-1 Friday night in the opener of a three-game series at Kauffman Stadium.
The Royals won the game as +110 underdogs, while the seven runs went UNDER the posted over/under (9) set by sportsbooks.
Mitch Maier led the Royals with a pair of RBIs, and Yuniesky Betancourt belted a solo home run. Dustin Hughes picked up the win in relief of starter Gil Meche.
Mark Buehrle gave up eight hits and six runs over six innings in the loss for the White Sox.
