Twins pound Brewers
Michael Cuddyer hit for the cycle while blasting a three-run homer and driving in five runs to lead the Minnesota Twins to an 11-3 trimming of the Milwaukee Brewers in the Inter-league series-opener Friday night at the Metrodome.
Minnesota won the game as -145 favorites, while the 14 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (9).
Justin Morneau went 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBIs and three runs scored. Kevin Slowey threw 7 1-3 innings for the win, allowing eight hits and three runs.
Ryan Braun went 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in one run for the Brewers. Manny Parra surrendered nine runs off eight hits over 3 1-3 innings in the loss.
