The Minnesota Twins scored four runs in the fourth inning and went on to defeat the Kansas City Royals 7-5 in the opener of a three-game series at the Metrodome Friday night.
Minnesota won the game as -180 favorites, and the 12 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (9).
Justin Morneau hit a two-run homer and drove in three runs for the Twins. Kevin Slowey threw five innings to pick up the win, allowing eight hits and five runs.
Jose Guillen went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs for the Royals. Sidney Ponson gave up nine hits and seven runs over 4 1-3 innings in the loss.
