Yankees down Royals in marathon

Brett Gardner drove in the winning run to give the New York Yankees a 3-2 win over the Kansas City Royals in 13 innings Saturday at Yankee Stadium.

New York won the game as -190 favorites, while the five runs fell UNDER the posted over/under (9.5).

Gardner finished 3-for-5 at the plate and Robinson Cano had two hits with one RBI for the Yankees. David Robertson tossed two innings of relief for the win.

Alex Gordon homered in a losing effort for the Royals. Jeff Fulchino gave up the winning run and was tagged with the loss.
