Yankees edge Blue Jays in 10

Marcus Thames singled in the winning run in the 10th as the as the New York Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 7-6 in an extra inning in the series rubber match Sunday at Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees won the game as -230 favorites, and the 13 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (9) set by sportsbooks.

Mark Teixeira went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in, and Brett Gardner hit an inside-the-park home run for the Yankees. David Robertson tossed a scoreless 10th to earn the victory.

DeWayne Wise belted a three-run homer and drove in four runs for the Blue Jays, but David Purcey gave up the winning run to spoil the offensive outburst in the loss on the mound.
