Mariners sneak past Yankees
The Seattle Mariners held off a late rally as they defeated the New York Yankees 3-1 Friday night in the opener of a three-game set at Safeco Field.
Seattle won the game as +145 underdogs, while the four runs went UNDER the posted over/under (9).
Wladimir Balentien went 2-for-4 at the plate with one RBI for the Mariners. Brandon Morrow allowed just one hit through 7 2-3 innings in the win.
Wilson Betemit drove in the lone run for the Yankees. Andy Pettitte gave up three runs off seven hits over seven innings in the loss.
