Mariners crush Padres
Mike Sweeney went 4-for-4 at the plate and drove in two runs to help the Seattle Mariners cruise to a 9-3 victory over the San Diego Padres Thursday afternoon in the rubber match at Safeco Field.
Seattle won this game as -180 favorites, and the 12 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (8.5).
Ichiro Suzuki went 4-for-5 at the plate with a solo home run for the Mariners. Jarrod Washburn tossed six innings for the win, allowing six hits and two runs.
Chase Headley belted a two-run homer for the Padres, while Wade LeBlanc gave up five hits and four runs in less than two innings in the loss.
