The Boston Red Sox evened their series with Seattle by toppling the Mariners 5-3 Saturday night at Safeco Field.

Boston won the game as -155 favorites, and the eight runs went UNDER the posted over/under (8.5).

Jason Bay led the Red Sox with a two-run dinger, and Jason Varitek also went deep for a two-run homer. Josh Beckett tossed seven innings for the win, allowing four hits and three runs.

Russell Branyan went 2-for-3 at the plate with one RBI for the Mariners. Garrett Olson gave up five runs over six innings in the loss.
