White Sox edge Rays
Jermaine Dye belted a solo home run and drove in two runs as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 Thursday night in the opener of a four-game series at Tropicana Field.
Chicago won the game as a -110 pick’em, while the five runs went UNDER the posted over/under (9).
Josh Fields had three hits and drove in the other run for the White Sox. John Danks earned the win over six innings of work, and Bobby Jenks notched his third save.
Carlos Pena homered in a losing effort for the Rays, and Jeff Niemann allowed nine hits and two runs.
