Tigers outlast Rays

The Detroit Tigers got down early but managed to come back and defeat the Tampa Bay Rays 8-6 Saturday at Tropicana Field.

Detroit won the game as +170 underdogs, while the 14 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (9).

Placido Polanco went 2-for-5 at the plate and drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers. Bobby Seay earned the win in relief, and Brandon Lyon collected his second save.

Evan Longoria belted a three-run homer for the Rays. Grant Balfour allowed the winning run and suffered the loss.
