Yankees toppled Tampa Bay
Starter C.C. Sabathia was nearly untouchable in the New York Yankees 10-0 beating of the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field Saturday.
New York won as a -139 road favorite while the final score played OVER the 9-run total.
Sabathia gave up just one hit in just under eight innings pitched, striking out five and walking just two batters. Mark Teixeira finished the day with one RBI on 3-for-4 batting. Robinson Cano totaled three RBI with a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
The Rays got just two hits the entire game off the bats off Ben Zobrist and Kelly Shoppach. Starter Wade Davis last six innings, allowing four runs on seven hits. Reliever Randy Choate was beat up for four runs on five hits in under an inning of work.
