Tigers topple Rangers
The Detroit Tigers won the first game of a four-game series as they defeated the Texas Rangers 10-6 Thursday night.
Detroit won the game as -105 road favorites. The 16 runs scored made it well OVER the posted over/under (10.5).
Chris Shelton belted two home runs and went 3-4 with two RBI on the night and Magglio Ordonez took it up a notch, going 3-5 at the plate, scoring two runs and collecting three RBI with two home runs in the win.
Michael Young was 3-5 with three RBI, while Ian Kinsler was 3-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Mark Teixeira went 3-5, collected an RBI and scored a run for the Rangers.
Nate Robertson worked five-plus innings, giving up three runs on eight hits to post the win. R.A. Dickey was tagged for the loss, giving up seven runs on eight hits.
