The Toronto Blue Jays came away with an 8-4 win over the Washington Nationals Thursday and swept the three-game inter-league series.
Toronto won the game at home as -230 favorites and the final score sailed OVER the posted over/under (8.5).
Eric Hinske had a great night at the plate, going 3-4 with three RBI and two runs scored and also drew one walk in the win.
Marlon Anderson belted a two home runs, collecting three RBI, going 3-3 at the plate as the Nationals fall to 33-47. Alfonso Soriano recorded his 1000th career hit with a double in the loss.
Toronto ace Roy Halladay went 6 1/3 innings to get his tenth win of the season, allowing four runs off six hits. John Patterson gave up five runs off six hits in three innings pitched, before leaving the game with an undisclosed injury.
