Blue Jays upset Angels; end skid
The Toronto Blue Jays ended a five-game losing skid with a 5-4 victory over the LA Angels Friday night Game 1 of a three-game set at Rogers Centre.
Toronto won the game as a -115 favorite, while the nine runs went UNDER the posted over/under (10).
Vernon Wells hit a solo home run and finished with a pair of runs batted in, and Jose Bautista drove in two runs for the Blue Jays. Marc Rzepczynski allowed just three hits and one run over 6 1-3 innings with six strikeouts in collecting the win.
Mike Napoli belted a three-run homer for the Angels. Sean O’Sullivan gave up four runs in the first inning and was tagged with the loss.
