Kansas City won the game as a +210 underdog at home, while the final score fell UNDER the posted over/under (10.5).
Emil Brown drove in one run from a solo homer and went 2-3 at the plate with two runs scored in the win.
Robinson Cano collected one hit and was walked twice as the Yankees still hold a 7 ½ game lead over the BoSox in the AL East division race, despite the loss.
Jorge De La Rosa posted his fourth win of the season, allowing just six hits over 5 2/3 innings on the mound, before leaving with an injury. Todd Wellemeyer filled in admirably to pick up the save, allowing just three hits in three-plus innings of relief.
Mike Mussina gave up four runs from eight hits over five innings of work and he suffers the loss.
