D-Backs edge A’s

The Arizona Diamondbacks committed two errors, but still managed a 2-1 victory over the Oakland A’s Friday night in the opener of a three-game series.

Arizona won the game as +135 underdogs, while the team’s played UNDER the posted over/under (9.5).

Chris Young went 2-for-3 at the plate with a solo home run for the Diamondbacks. Billy Buckner tossed 7 1-3 innings for the win, and Jon Rauch collected his second save of the season.

Matt Holliday went deep in a losing effort for the A’s. Trevor Cahill gave up six hits and two runs over 7 1-3 innings.
