Rangers dump A's; avoid sweep
Michael Young homered and drove in a pair of runs to help the Texas Rangers defeat the Oakland A's 6-4 Thursday to avoid a four-game sweep at Oakland Coliseum.
Texas won this game as -120 favorites, and the 10 runs made it OVER the day's posted over/under (9).
Hank Blalock also went deep for the Rangers, while Tommy Hunter went seven innings for the victory. C.J. Wilson closed out the game for his 14th save.
Nomar Garciaparra drove in one run and scored another in a losing effort for the A's. Trevor Cahill allowed eight hits and five runs over six innings to suffer the loss.
