Brewers top Nationals in opener
The Milwaukee Brewers scored three runs in the ninth inning and secured a 7-3 victory over the Washington Nationals in the opener of a four-game series at Nationals Park Friday night.
Milwaukee won the game as -120 favorites, and the 10 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (9.5).
Jason Kendall went 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in one run to lead the Brewers. Braden Looper improved to 11-6 with the win, allowing just four hits and two runs.
Ryan Zimmerman hit a solo home run and drove in two runs for the Nationals. J.D. Martin gave up eight hits and four runs over 6 2-3 innings in the loss.
