Braves down Nationals in opener

Javier Vazquez tossed a complete-game three-hitter Friday night, as the Atlanta Braves opened up a three-game series with a 4-1 victory over the Washington Nationals Friday night at Nationals Park.

Atlanta won the game as -185 favorites, while the five runs went UNDER the posted over/under (8).

Martin Prado went 2-for-5 at the plate, including a solo home run for the Braves. Vazquez improved to 15-9 with the win.

Josh Bard homered in a losing effort for the Nationals. John Lannan gave up six hits and two runs over seven innings.
