Cubs fend off Nationals

The Chicago Cubs surrendered three runs in the ninth, but managed to hang on and defeat the Washington Nationals 5-4 Tuesday night.

Chicago won the game as +110 underdogs, while the nine runs made it OVER the posted over/under (8.5) set by sportsbooks.

Tyler Colvin belted a two-run homer for the Cubs, and Carlos Zambrano fanned eight batters over his 7 1-3 innings in getting the win.

John Lannan gave up seven hits and five runs over five innings in the Nationals loss.
