Tigers fend off Indians for sweep
The Detroit Tigers completed a three-game sweep of the Cleveland Indians with a 6-5 victory Thursday night in the series finale at Progressive Field.
Detroit won the game as -220 favorites, and the 11 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (8.5).
Carlos Guillen went 3-for-3 at the plate with one RBI and one runs scored. Justin Verlander whiffed 11 batters over seven innings for the win.
Michael Brantley drove in a pair of runs for the Indians. Carlos Carrasco surrendered four runs over five innings in suffering the loss.
