Jody Gerut went 2-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored for the Padres. Jake Peavy tossed five innings for the win, giving up three runs off six hits.

Carlos Delgado went deep for a three-run blast for the Mets. John Maine surrendered seven hits and six runs over five innings in the loss.
