Bard powers Nationals
Josh Bard belted a two-run homer and drove in three runs Friday, leading the Washington Nationals over the New York Mets 6-5 at Citi Field.
The Nationals won the game as +115 underdogs, and the 11 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (9).
Ryan Zimmerman went 2-for-4 at the plate with a solo home run for the Nationals. J.D. Martin improved to 5-4 with the win, and Mike MacDougal closed out the win with his 16th save.
Carlos Beltran had two hits and drove in a pair of runs. Mike Pelfrey allowed eight hits and five runs over seven innings for the win.
